Welcome to MkWasee

MkWasee is a noncommercial website created by an ex computer scientist and amateur musician for the purpose of making public some of his endeavours produced during his retirement. We begin with two items:

  1. A hearing test application where a user can hear a sequence of pure tones ranging from low to high frequency and can make volume adjustments until the sequence is perceived to be of consistent volume. It can be used to generate an audiogram to present to an audiologist, partcularly in cases where the user's hearing aids appear to be over compensated at the high frequencies such that music appreciation is affected.

  2. A new proposal is presented as to what Beethoven could have had in mind when composing his C sharp minor string quartet, opus 131. It is Beethoven's masterpiece and stands out amongst his other late works because of its many unusual features, i.e. seven movements, an openning fugue, an apparent dialogue movement and a crazy scherzo.
